NGR Group takes the next step toward a new future as a group

After several intensive years of growth within recycling and logistics, NGR Group is now entering a new phase in its development. With a clearer group structure and three interconnected business areas – NGR Recycling, NGR Logistics, and NGR Trading – the company strengthens its position as a driving force in the circular economy.

“We started NGR with a clear idea: to make recycling simpler, more efficient, and more profitable – for both businesses and society,” says CEO Tobias Hästbacka.
“Now it’s time to take the next step. We’ve grown rapidly and proven that our model works. The next step is to build the whole picture – creating an ecosystem where recycling, logistics, and trading are truly connected.”

Each of the group’s three business areas plays a distinct role in the circular ecosystem.
NGR Recycling operates recycling hubs and develops new technologies for material recovery. HUB 28 has expanded rapidly and become a symbol of how modern recycling flows can work in practice.
NGR Logistics is responsible for transportation, ensuring that materials move smoothly between industries, regions, and across borders.
NGR Trading connects markets through digital material trading and smart resource systems.

“We often talk about the circular economy as something that belongs to the future,” Hästbacka says.
“But for us, it’s not theory – it’s part of our everyday work. We’re building systems that work here and now, and across the entire Nordic region.”

With the new group structure, collaboration between the companies is being formalized. NGR Group Ab will serve as the parent company and will fully own the three core businesses. Hästbacka emphasizes that this is also about strengthening the organization for the next phase.

“Our ownership group complements each other exceptionally well,” he notes.
“There’s strategic expertise, operational experience, and a shared commitment to sustainable growth. That’s a real strength for the future.”

For Tobias Hästbacka, the next step is about continuing to grow – but in the right way. He describes the development as both a natural and necessary phase.

“Growth itself isn’t really the goal,” he says.
“For us, it’s about growing sustainably, with responsibility and long-term value. We want to build a group that stands for quality, transparency, and confidence in the future. And we’re well on our way.”
